As part of Thompson Rivers University’s (TRU) commitment to advancing truth and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, the university is constructing a new Indigenous Centre on its Kamloops campus. Once complete, the 14,700-square-foot facility will provide a welcoming space for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students to connect, learn, and access support services.

The three-storey mass timber building will feature a double-height community gathering space at its heart. Inspired by traditional summer house structures of the Secwépemc People, the centre will serve as a spiritual, cultural, and educational hub for students, Elders, and the broader community, while reflecting the culture and traditions of Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc.

OUR SCOPE

For this project, we are providing several electrical and technology solutions, including electrical distribution, lighting and lighting control, fire alarm, structured cabling, and security.
