Located near the James Bay neighborhood in the heart of downtown Victoria directly behind the beautiful BC Legislative Buildings, this new community features mixed-use spaces for life, work, and play. The existing 1940’s office buildings, parking lots, and historic houses have been replaced. With close to a city block of space, Capital Park contains office spaces, retail amenities, residential buildings, and open landscaped public spaces. While the intent is to bring a modern feel to the area, the heritage flavour is retained with sympathetic renovations to three existing heritage houses on the site.
Houle has worked on this site since 1988 and is proud to continue working on it as the site continues to change. Projects that Houle has completed on this site are Capital Park Building A1, Building B, and the Library. Work underway includes the Capital Park Building A2, Landscape Lighting, and Retail Pavilion. Houle’s scope includes/included high/low voltage distribution installation, LED lighting with DDC lighting controls, mass notification fire alarm system, Cat6A data installation, access and CCTV systems, and sound masking systems.
