Houle is proud to announce that it has achieved Platinum Club status in Deloitte Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. To be eligible for this category, a company must have been in the program for seven consecutive years. Houle finds itself in good company with other well-known Canadian businesses, including A&W Food Services of Canada, Boston Pizza International, Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, and White Spot Limited. Furthermore, the Platinum Club includes some of Houle’s industry clients and partners. For instance, E.B. Horsman & Son, Graham Construction, Maple Reinders, Omicron Canada, and PCL Construction.

Houle first became a Best Managed Company in 2012 and was awarded the distinction after its first application. The company has maintained its membership status by continually demonstrating a strong trend of growth in profitability, people, and resources. Houle’s Executive and Leadership teams have executed a strategic plan to drive success through new markets and services.

About Canada’s Best Managed Companies

Canada’s Best Managed Companies is Canada’s leading business awards program, recognizing excellence in private Canadian-owned companies. This recognition sets Houle apart from its competitors and enhances its sales and marketing efforts across different platforms. Additionally, as a privately held corporation, Houle has benefitted from the program’s annual qualification process. This yearly audit serves as a third-party evaluation that seeks to develop a detailed picture of the company’s financial health, growth prospects, and market performance. By undergoing this process, Houle commits significant time and resources every year to ensure its qualification and maintain its membership status.

Houle’s ability to consistently maintain membership status and now achieve the Platinum Club status is a testament to the company’s commitment to strong management, growth, and success. Employees, partners, and clients alike can be confident in the company’s ability to continue being well-managed, growing, and succeeding.

Houle staff saved Santa's Cottage at the Uptown Shopping Centre in Victoria, just in time for Christmas.

We care about the communities where we live, work, and play and when we received an emergency call from Santa just three days before the annual tree light-up at Uptown Shopping Centre in Victoria, we knew we needed to help. Attended by many, the annual tree light-up is a cherished event. Determined not to let the community down, we managed to commission the Cottage just one day before the tree lit up, making it possible for Santa’s Cottage to open.

At Houle, safety is our 1st priority. We invest tremendous amounts of time and effort to uphold this and we appreciate the recognition. Special thanks to the entire Houle team for supporting our core value of safety every day!

By: Ashley Moliere, Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia

Eight-year-old twins Savanna and Kaylee Morris both live with cerebral palsy. They have been members of the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC for five years. Both girls have also been recipients of our camp scholarships for three years. Their mother, Nicole Morris, credits their time at therapy camp as helping the girls grow and become more confident in their abilities. Nicole says that the girls attend the therapy camp with three other girls with cerebral palsy each year and love to interact with other kids just like them.

They look forward to the camp every year which is incredible.

Nicole also says that the girls are able to learn functional mobility skills while participating in fun activities. One big highlight from last year was Savanna being able to take her first independent steps at camp.

Without donors like Houle, stories like these might not be possible. Houle has shown their commitment to the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC with their generous contributions to our programs. Houle’s contributions have allowed us to increase the number of kids we can help send to camp each year. We are able to continue to provide scholarships so that students with cerebral palsy or other disabilities can attend university and college. These donations allow us to fund programs and services so that kids like Savanna and Kaylee can reach their full potential and live a Life Without Limits.

Houle provides donation and fundraising support to the Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia.

We are proud to have provided electrical services to the new Shell Hydrogen fueling station which opened June 15th, 2021, at the Shell station on Granville Street and W. 71st Ave. This project marks a significant milestone in the Canadian auto industry, as it represents the first hydrogen fueling station in the country. Although hydrogen vehicles are not as well-known as their battery-electric counterparts, they offer a key advantage in quick refuelling times – around five minutes for a full tank that can provide hundreds of kilometres of travel. To learn more about this innovative development, check out the news article featured on CBC news!

Cerebral Palsy Association of BC’s Life Without Limits Gala.

We believe in fundraising for our community and proudly attended the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC’s Life Without Limits Gala at the Vancouver Sheraton Wall Centre. Proceeds from the fundraiser provide financial assistance for students with cerebral palsy to attend a post-secondary institution of their choice. We were able to raise $4,000 for the bursary program that aims to significantly improve students’ chances for a successful post-secondary career.
