The VRCA Recognizes Houle for Safety & Construction Excellence

10/26/2017 Safety and construction excellence brought Houle to center stage three times at last night’s Awards of Excellence gala hosted by the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA). For the fourteenth time, Houle earned VRCA’s safety award proving itself once more to be among the safest electrical contractors in the trades industry of British Columbia. Amongst the project awards, Houle was awarded Gold for two projects – one in the up to $2 million electrical project category – and another in the new – over $8 million electrical project category – the latter category being extraordinary as it included a selection of three projects that were all completed by Houle, leaving no room for any outside competition.

In the up to $2 million electrical category Houle won the Gold award with its entry of the Prince Rupert Airport Terminal Upgrade. In the over $8 million category, Houle’s North Island Hospitals, Comox Valley project won Gold and Houle also continued to celebrate the Silvers won for its two other projects in the category – the Tsawwassen Mills Mall and the Joseph & Rosalie Segal Family Health Centre. Houle also won Silver in the over $2 million category with its BC Hydro Nanaimo District Office project.

Overall, Houle set another new record of industry recognition at the 2017 VRCA Awards walking away with two Gold awards, five Silvers and the Safety Award. Houle would like to take this opportunity to thank the VRCA and its panel of judges for recognizing Houle’s drive toward construction excellence, quality and safety in its projects. Houle also recognizes and thanks its many valued partners and associates involved on these projects including, Graham Construction, EllisDon, Ledcor Group, Ivanhoe Cambridge, Marcan Construction, Omnicron as well as the Vancouver Island Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health, Stantec Engineering and the Double Platinum sponsor for the awards of excellence, WorksafeBC.

Congratulations to all of the Houle staff that drove these projects and initiatives to a highly successful end and that have demonstrated to the industry yet again that the Houle values of safety, quality, ethics and integrity are a pathway to excellence. The executive team at Houle extends their thanks and appreciation for your hard work and dedication that have earned these coveted awards.

Lastly, Houle also congratulates all of this year’s other outstanding award winners, most notably Ledcor Group for their Gold award on the Tsawwassen Mills Mall project.

Congratulations to all!
