Owner: Thompson Rivers University

Located in Kamloops, BC, Thompson Rivers University (TRU) Old Main Building has been the heart of campus life.  Old Main, the first building on the campus, was built in 1971, before TRU existed. Today it houses classrooms, department offices, the TRU Art Gallery, and the Actors’ Workshop Theatre.

Thompson Rivers University’s exciting new revitalization of Old Main includes 40,000 square feet of new learning spaces and Canada’s newest Faculty of Law. The design was inspired by Mt. Paul’s Group of Seven painter, A. Y. Jackson, who made a significant contribution to the development of art in Canada. Houle’s Audio Visual team scope of work on this revitalization project includes the installation of  motorized lecterns, AV racks, laser projectors, motorized screens, touchscreen interfaces, wireless and hardwired laptop inputs, Smart document cameras, dedicated host PC’s, microphones, and sound systems in 33 state-of-the-art classrooms.
